Pumpkin Pie
From the Woman's Home Companion Cook Book (1955), not my creation.
need:
One
pie crust (use only half of the recipe)
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ginger
*
1/4 tsp cloves
*
1/4 tsp nutmeg
*
1 1/2 cups pumpkin, canned or home-cooked
1 1/2 cups milk
2 beaten eggs
1 tbsp molasses
Instructions for cooking your own pumpkin yet to come.
do:
1. Prepare pie crust, or buy one.
2. Mix brown sugar, salt, and spices.
3. Add remaining ingredients and mix until smooth.
4. Pour into the pie crust.
5. Preheat the oven to 425F and bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until a knife comes out clean when inserted into the center of the pie.
